Healing Meals is the first of its kind nutritious food gifting program currently available in Bergen and Passaic Counties in New Jersey. Healing Meals provides nutritious meals for ill children, seniors and families when they need it most. We started Healing Meals for families with children undergoing treatment for cancer, serious blood disorders and sickle cell anemia distributed through Tomorrows Children’s Fund (TCF) at Hackensack University Medical Center, through Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Program at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital, Paterson, NJ and also through Emmanuel Cancer Foundation. We expanded our Healing Meals program to include seniors in need living at Ridgecrest Senior Housing and S.H.A.R.E., Inc. (Senior Housing Association of Ridgewood and Envrions) both located in Ridgewood, NJ. As a result of the pandemic, we are providing Healing Meals to families and individuals at the Franciscan Community Development Center of Fairview and through Social Services of Ridgewood and vicinity.
Feed the Frontlines Initiative is a call-to-action to provide hot nutritious meals prepared by local Ridgewood restaurants to the food insecure and community groups throughout Bergen County during the pandemic. It is an organized way for people to help those in need while supporting local restaurants who have been hit hard economically. Feed the Frontlines and Helping Those In Need is made up of The Ridgewood Chamber of Commerce, HealthBarn Foundation 501(c)(3), Bergen County Food Security Task Force, Bergen Volunteer Center and many community volunteers. It is a creative solution to help where help is needed. Thank you for your support!
